Visual Art Department
Through visual art, children and adults learn to create, explore, respond to, and connect with the world around them. At the Yocum Institute, our Visual Art Department offers classes and one-day workshops for all ages and skill levels, from preschool to adults and seniors. Classes are flexible and range in days, times and in session length to try and meet the needs of our community. Led by experienced teaching artists and educators, or programs provide a supportive environment where students can build new skills, discover new possibilities, and express their individual ideas.

We believe in the positive impact that art has on one's life, and that a meaningful art education is more than just mastering a medium. Our classes encourage students to experiment, get inspired, take creative risks, and solve problems. Through hands-on exploration and artistic expression, students develop observation skills, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong connection to creativity.
